— "Zen"
Precision meets tranquility. Flying the Embraer E190 across North America with a focus on operational excellence, crew harmony, and delivering the smoothest landings in the business.
I believe flying is as much about inner calm as it is about technical precision. My name is Liam Nakamura — half Japanese, half Canadian, entirely devoted to the art of flight.
I grew up in Vancouver, where the mountains meet the sea. My grandfather was a Kamikawa Maru navigator; my father is a bush pilot in British Columbia. Aviation runs in my blood, but I found my own path through the structured elegance of modern airline operations.
After earning my degree in Aerospace Engineering from UBC, I trained at the Pacific Flight Centre and joined SkyVista Airways in 2018. I flew the Q400 for two years before transitioning to the Embraer E190 — an aircraft I've come to love for its responsiveness and grace.
My flying philosophy is rooted in mindfulness: every pre-flight check is a meditation, every approach a practice in presence. I bring this calm to my crew, my passengers, and every aspect of my professional life.
Every sector logged, every landing counted.

"Flying with Liam is effortless. His communication is clear, his decisions are thoughtful, and his attitude is always positive. He's the kind of pilot you want in the right seat."
"I had the privilege of instructing Liam early in his career. He had a rare combination of natural ability and disciplined study habits. I knew he'd go far."
